Enough with the body fluids!

It’s 8.30 in the morning and enough is enough.

My daughter wet the bed this morning, she’s only just started going without a nappy at night, so accidents will happen! But who in their right mind makes waterproof sheets that aren’t waterproof around the edges?!?! Someone without kids that’s who. So dealt with the wee on the edge of the mattress. Fine.

Then needy dog does the most vile and enormous puke. On the carpet. Not on the kitchen floor or somewhere sensible. ON THE CARPET!!! She doesn’t give any warning of impeding puke disaster like bombproof dog does. She just walks around normally, then woah projectile dog vomit.

Just to add to the drama, my helpful daughter wants to help clean up the dog puke. She’s unravelled a whole roll of paper towel, got dog puke on her socks, and poured water all over the carpet.

Despite my best soaking and dabbing and scrubbing there is still the undeniable stench of dog vomit in the air.

If this is how the day is going so far, I think I should take to my bed and just hide out for the rest of it.

Can’t comment on the dog thing… I’m a fish person (and fish don’t throw up).
But with the wee mat, we found that it makes a difference if you put the mat under or over the top sheet.
It also needs to be absorbent, simply a protector.

    1. Our protector goes under her normal sheet, but the protector part of it doesn’t go down the sides, so it obviously shifted – she wriggles a lot, and she had her accident right on the edge, so the protector bit only protected about half of the wee because it had slipped over! I need one that is protective all the way down the sides so if it slips it’s ok!
Thank god fish don’t throw up- That would be hard to clean up in the water!

We used to have a protector that was made of plastic and was like a fitted sheet but that want absorbent… We lost it when we moved but thankfully the absorbent one we kept and managed fine.
And it’s bad enough that fish pee and poop in the water. >. >

  2. My cats always throw up on the rug. I have lost several rugs to cat vomit. And the most annoying thing is that we have wooden and linoleum floors throughout the whole of the downstairs!

As for the mattress protector, we bought a double sized one for exactly that reason! Whoever designed those things clearly did not have kids!

    1. Animals just have the knack for doing horrible things like puking in the wrong places!
That’s a brilliant idea getting a double mattress protector! Why didn’t I think of that?! Haha!

As someone who was passed a pellet of poo 10 minutes ago I can sympathise! And why do animals insist of vomiting on carpet?!?!! Well the do say what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger… I’m less convinced!
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday.

That’s a lot of body fluids for one morning!
I really like the illustrations which go along with the post. I notice how your hair is lovely and neat in the first picture yet begins to look bedraggled as the post goes on! #KCACOLS

No the best way to start the day – I have five cats. One of them always eats the vomit of other cats. Is so wrong but makes it easier to clean up…

    1. Oh no! At least it helps with the clean up!

Oh what a day! I agree with the vomiting on carpet. We have two long-haired cats, so frequently get fur balls. We have wood flooring all downstairs, and carpet upstairs. Where do they throw up? Not on the easy to wipe-clean wood flooring!! ALWAYS on the damn cream carpets upstairs! OR, on our freshly laundered bed sheets! you’d think they planned it! Haha 😦 Btw LOVE the drawings! πŸ˜€ #KCACOLS
